'Diary of a Minecraft Zombie' nominated for Kids' Choice Awards 2016, for some reason

I totally get that kids these days don't read as much as previous generations. We have awesome stuff like video games, high-budget movies, and the internet to get our fill of popular culture. But you cannot tell me for one second that 'Diary of a Minecraft Zombie' should be on the same level of quality of Harry Potter and The Hunger Games.

Nickelodeon is hosting their annual Kids' Choice Awards show, and you can already vote for your favorites from the nominations. The 'Favorite Book' category includes your usual standard middle/high-school literature - Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and ... Diary of a Minecraft Zombie? Huh?

I've literally never heard of this book before. Here is the summary from GoodReads:
Ever wonder what it would be like to be a Minecraft Zombie? In the first book of this hilarious Minecraft adventure series, we get to read the diary of an actual 12 year old, Minecraft Zombie. Take a peek at what is really going on between the hollow eyes, and dead expression that we normally see when we face the dreaded Zombies of Minecraft.

It seems to have really good reviews from kids and parents alike. But why is it even close to the best book? Is there actually as many kids reading that as Harry Potter? I'm so incredibly confused.

I have read the preview but it very short. Also it not really good because each page only had 4/5 lines and there were only 81 pages.......so don't buy and don't dare to compare this small children book with harry potter or hunger games.

How does a book that "Popular" go undetected without many people knowing it? And, Minecraft is fun and all, but this?!

Part of me thinks that someone at that book's publisher threw a little money at Nickelodeon.
